Psalm 50
God has not been unclear about what He
requires. He wants a sacrificial heart. Does that heart bring the blood of
bulls and goats? Yes. Why? God said so. But what God requires and delights in
is the heart that desires to do whatever God requires. God sees the gratitude
or the attitude and He knows the difference. God doesn't need anything from us
- nothing at all. But He knows that we
need to need Him. The aim of all things is to give glory to God. So
it is in our best interest to give our first and best to Him. He could not
command less and continue to love us. It would be sin for Him to require and
command less.
