day no. 14,408: where there's smoke...

Exodus 32:19-20
And as soon as he came near the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses' anger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. 20 He took the calf that they had made and burned it with fire and ground it to powder and scattered it on the water and made the people of Israel drink it.

Moses burned with anger when he saw the calf. He had heard about it previously and his anger was kindled, but he exploded when he saw it firsthand. Many falsely equate God's current patience with indifference or even worse, with approval of our sinful behaviors; but make no mistake, His anger is kindled and will, like Moses, explode upon His visible return.
