day no. 12,826: a harder hardship than necessary‏

Oswald waxed poetic this morning when he laid this bad boy down

Frailty is another thing that gets in between God’s say-so and ours. When we realize how feeble we are in facing difficulties, the difficulties become like giants, we become like grasshoppers, and God becomes a nonentity.

Pulling imagery from the 12 spies who were sent out to examine the promises of God, Oswald brings home the timidity that invades many of us in facing difficulties.

We forget God’s promises and go forward as though the outcomes depend entirely upon us. This is not a credit to our responsibility, but a detriment to our humility. Everything does not depend upon us.

Hardship is made harder by attempting to face it without God.
