The freedom to be OK with not being OK.
 
Some would say, “We go to church to give to God, to show Him that we’re serious.”
 
I understand the sermon note pointed at our consumerism.
 
It’s a good one.
 
Many of us do come to church only to get and never give the church or God anything.
 
And…
 
We will continue to do so unless we RESPOND to the fact that in Christ, God has given us everything.
 
The best fuel for maturity is NOT a rally cry for us to do good works in order to become who we always wanted to be.
 
The best fuel for maturity is a proclamation of forgiveness found in faith in what has already been done by God.
