Numbers 2
The twelve tribes of Israel are here divided into 5 groups, 1 to lead, 1 accompanying the tent of meeting, 1 on each flank and 1 guarding the rear. Judah was chosen to head up the lead, the Levites were chosen to accompany the tent of meeting, Reuben and Ephraim were on the right and left and Dan headed the caboose. It is fitting that Judah would lead the group that leads the way. From his lineage a Lion would be born who would one day lead the children of God to their final resting place, the greater and more permanent promised land, Heaven itself.
