Nowhere does righteousness and peace kiss more passionately than on the cross of Christ. A spotless, blameless life diligently lived to serve God and sidestep sin was placed on a sinner's cross. The peace of the Son met the wrath of the Father. All we deserve was avenged on Him. All that He earned was bequeathed to us. His will clearly stated that all His possessions were to be given away on the condition that all of our junk be forfeited to Him. All we have is junk. All He has is treasure and He insists on the trade. The only thing God requires a person to possess in order to be saved is... nothing. And sadly, it is the one thing most people do not have.
