Exodus 25:9, 40
Exactly as I show you concerning the
pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it. 40
And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you
on the mountain.
When God desires a particular, He provides
a pattern. He doesn't demand something specific without providing specific
instructions. He has communicated clearly what He requires. This attention to
detail will manifest itself entirely in the Person and work of the High Priest,
our Sacrifice and Temple, Jesus Christ.
It does seem kind of tedious to read through the specifications sometimes, but think how confusing it would be to have to guess at the things God wants! It's a grace to us to be given the pattern.
