day no. 14,381: don't worry

Psalm 39
Something about a proper perspective puts everything else into place. Worry and anxiety are often cured by fast forwarding all the way to the end. Once it is affirmed that you will die, despite your best attempts to live forever, you can make much of what is most important and focus less on what is evaporating. There is less reason to worry or be anxious since most worries are about prolonging one's life as long as possible.

  1. That's so true. If you run all the anxieties out to the 'worst case scenario' possibilities that lurk around in your mind, they almost all end with some kind of awful existence that ultimately ends in death. If you're not afraid of death, "worst case scenario" really doesn't hold much weight.
