day no. 16,516: our descendants and the desolate cities

Isaiah 54:2-3
Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.
For you shall expand to the right and to the left,
And your descendants will inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.

You cannot outpace grace. You cannot anticipate more than God is ready to provide. You cannot imagine more goodness than He possesses. You are unable to aspire higher than He can ascend.

Ephesians 3:20-21
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Do not hold back on Him. Do not withhold from Him your hopes. He does not withhold any good thing from those who love Him.

Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Look to the left: goodness;
look to your right: goodness.

Like Abraham surveying the land, look out and see what your children will call home. Look at the wildness that needs domestication. Look at the out of control that needs order. Look at the common grace in need of husbandry. And then go out there and get to work: domesticate, impose order, shepherd toward maturity in Christ.

In short, rule and subdue the earth for the glory of God and the good of your neighbor. The globe needs to be gardenized and the nations need to be discipled. The meek will inherit the whole shebang and the more we work whatever kinks out that are directly in front of us, the less kinks our grandchildren will inherit in need of working out. The more we shoulder our weight, the more we free up generations to shoulder new ones. By rising up to our adventure, we enable our grandchildren to tackle brand spanking new ones.
