day no. 16,514: vain jangling

1 Timothy 1:5-6
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: from which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling.

Those who aim at another end miss. Those who aim at this end another way miss. It is vain to aim anywhere else. It is vain to set your sights another way.

Vain, vain, vain.... jangling fool.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Anything outside of Christ is vain jangling.

Satan speaks angel.

You can be extravagantly, outlandishly wrong.

The devil convinced a third of the angels to give their bodies to the flames, but all for nothing.

Whatever you do without love misses the mark.
Wherever you end up if not at love ends poorly.
