When was the last time you were mortified? For the Christian, the answer is always, "right this moment." There is no truce when it comes to the war against sin. If you are taking a break or refusing to fight, sin is winning. It will never stop. Enmity is hard-wired and promised to be part of our existence by the decree of God (Genesis 3:15). If you have ceased fighting, you are deceased. To be alive in Christ is to be fighting against sin in life.
