day no. 12,856: leave it to showbread to teach me a new line to an old hymn‏

To Christ, who won for sinners grace
By bitter grief and anguish sore,
Be praise from all the ransomed race

I was listening to Showbreads's album Nervosa on Youtube when I heard the song, "The Beginning" which of course is the last song on the album.  It contained a rendition of "O The Wonderful Cross" and I heard the verse above which I had never before heard.

Today I learned two new things:

(1) a new verse to an old song

and

(2) never underestimate legit Christian music (even hardcore/screamo/punk) to introduce you to new ways to appreciate Jesus.
