Isaiah 58:11-12
And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
God goes with us as we cultivate the earth. He has given us our marching orders: rule and subdue -- gardenize the globe for the glory of God and the good of your neighbor. Take the pattern of Genesis 1 and 2 and impose it upon the wildness outside the garden. Use Eden as your template and expand its influence.
You are filled up as you pour out. You bless your descendants as you honor your ancestors. You pass along as of first importance what you also received -- that Christ was crucified for our sins according to the Scripture, that He was dead and buried, and rose on the third day according to the Scriptures and appeared to many for a period of forty days before ascending to the right hand of the Father to sit down crowned King of kings and Lord of lords.
So, lay the foundations that your grandchildren will build upon.
Plant crops you will not harvest.
Sow seeds you won't see grow.
Build a world you will never see.
2 Corinthians 3:17b-18
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Praise God for the high privilege of being laid low so that our descendants might ascend all the more to greater glories.
