day no. 15,018: Atticus is Eleven

Congratulations on your eleventh trip around the sun.

You've gotten much, MUCH, taller since your last go round. You just keep growing and growing... onward and upward!

You told me recently that you have grown fond of Luke 2:52 where the Bible says that Jesus, "grew in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man." You want to do the same. From what I have observed, you are well on your way in every respect. You are growing in your studies and your mom says that you are improving in your focus as you work hard to be a sage. You are physically getting taller and stronger every day. You are eating well and exercising in order to stay healthy and fit. You are beloved by your siblings and are learning the ways of godly manliness.

You are a wonderful story teller and illustrator. You have an eye for detail and a skilled hand for capturing them. Your pictures always tell a story and you are always ready to fill in the gaps and explain what is happening, how they go there and what's about to happen. You capture movement really well in your drawings and there is always a feeling of action involved. It reminds me of a Teddy Roosevelt quote we heard while watching The Roosevelts together as a family on Netflix together one night...

"Get action; do things; be sane; don’t fritter away your time; create; act; take a place wherever you are and be somebody; get action.” -- Teddy Roosevelt

I am so proud of the man you are, the boy you've been and the future man you are becoming.

Love,
Dad
