day no. 15,017: yes and no

"Never be ashamed to say, "I do not know." Men will believe you when you say, "I do know."

Learn to say, "No," with decision; "Yes," with caution. "No," with a decision whenever it resists temptation; "Yes," with caution whenever it implies a promise.

A man is already of consequence in the world when it is known that we can implicitly rely upon him -- when he says he knows a thing, he knows it, and when he says he will do a thing, he does it." - Lord Bulwer Lytton, Be In Earnest

Matthew 5:37
Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

James 5:12
But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

A man is of consequence when he can be depended upon. When you know what you're getting when you get him and when you know that you have him if he says he's yours.
