thoughts from "Slaves of Christ" by Chad Harvey‏

While enjoying my morning off with my family, my wife turned on Christian radio and I heard THIS. Sorry, by Christian radio, I meant Christian talk radio. If you are hoping to hear a song when you click on the link above, you will be disappointed. But you will hear an awesome sermon distinguishing the genuine Christian life of slavery lived in faith and by faith in a faithful Master against the Christian life of "buddy Jesus.".

Do you see yourself as a slave of Jesus?
Do you not like the idea of being a slave to anyone or anything?
Do you distrust Him as a Master?

Slaves do not choose their Master.
Masters choose their slaves.

Slaves are not responsible for their own provision.
Masters provide for their slaves.

Slaves do not tell their Masters what to do.
Masters command their slaves.

Slaves serve.
Masters rule.

How much more so for those of us who call Jesus our Savior and our Master?

If Jesus is merely your homeboy, you won't obey Him.
If you want Him to save you, but not tell you what to do, you can't have Him.

You don't get to have a Savior without having a Master.
