“It is obvious that a politician often passes the first half of his life in explaining that he can do something, and the second half of it in explaining that he cannot.” — G.K. Chesterton
Politicians run their campaigns on promises and their administrations on excuses. They suggest solutions when running for office and explain the problems while in office. They offer the world to those who will give them the keys and then once inside they state that they're having a hard time with the lock for the length of their term.
Politics are no savior, but politics must be saved. Governance is inescapable. It is not a matter of if we will be governed, but a matter of who will govern us and by what standard. Christian men take responsibility and make no excuses. That is why we need Christian men in office and that is why Christ's laws must be brought to bear on our nation. If His laws aren't, it means someone else's laws will be. And we have all seen how that has gone.
When is comes to secular policies and politicians, it's sick of one and a half dozen of the other.
