"The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down... The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth."
The dynamic between God and man is described in the Bible repeatedly by this formula: God gives grace to the humble, but opposes the proud. Those that are falling have a friend in Jesus. Those laid prostrate find a merciful King. Those who cry out, "Lord, save me!" find a God nearby. To call on Him in truth is to call from a mouth muffled by the ground at His feet.
In humble estate is an eternal inheritance.
