The story of God takes place in geographical space. It is not metaphysical abstractness, it is dirt and rivers and mud. The Christian religion takes place on the stage of earth. It has implications for people and their fences. It has application on Tuesday. No other religions require actual events of history and actual places of geography. All can be cashed out in theory. Christianity must be cashed out in actuality. It isn't a feeling, it is a forest – dark, dense with beams of light breaking through, life and livelihood meeting lumber.
