day no. 14,035: often the saddest sacks

Ecclesiastes 2:24-25
24 There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, 25 for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?

Greed and pride and selfishness can acquire the world's delicacies, but only God can grant the partaker with satisfaction at their consumption. Some gain access to everything their heart desires and yet the fulfillment they sought in obtaining them is withheld. Often the saddest sacks are those who have tasted everything and found it wanting because they've refused to taste and see that the Lord, alone, is good.
