Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Life under the sun comes down to this one matter: the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever and that God will judge you for falling short of that prescription.
That is life under the sun... without Christ.
If there is one thing we all know, it is that there are things we ought to be doing and things we shouldn't have done. We are our own accusers. We confess the standard and the failure in the same breath. Without Christ, this is all of life.
