Votes are like bullets. They do not always win the war, but they do help. And if you have enough of them, you can lay down suppressive fire for other, more effective means of securing victory.

Psalm 20:7

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: 

but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

It is good to have plenty of them and it is good to avoid putting your trust in them, just like votes.

Psalm 146:3

Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, 

in whom there is no help.

So, in summary, vote like your life depended on it, but make sure you remember that it doesn't.
