day no. 17,466: early risers and earlier raiders

"Misers get up early in the morning; and burglars, I am informed, get up the night before." — G.K. Chesterton,  On Lying In Bed

Misers riser early, but raider rise earlier.

Skinflints get up early to count their coins to make sure they are all still accounted for from the night before, but thieves get up even earlier counting on the ones with coins needing to sleep at some point.

Some men would rather stay up late in order to steal another man's money and some men get up early to earn an honest day's wages. Some men get up early to have more time with their treasure and some sleep in satisfied with what they have.

Money can move a bedtime up or back, honestly or dishonestly, greedily or contentedly.
