day no. 16,972: if you don't mind

“Some minds are like soup in a poor restaurant—better left unstirred.” — P. G. Wodehouse

Some brains are best left in bed and some minds only get up to make messes. That is to say that they do best when they do less.

Romans 14:1
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

Some thoughts are too much for some people and some topics are too much for some relationships to take.

Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes:
but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

It is better not to stir some people up. It only make things worse. That soup will fair no better for having been swirled around anymore than the fool will be wiser for having had more time at the mic.

Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger.

Some pots are better left alone. They only boil over when someone is watching.

There is a time to stir pots and a time to refrain from stirring.
