1 Corinthians 14:20
Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.
We should be like babies when it comes to wickedness. Babies are conceived in wickedness, but not well acquainted with it yet. They don't understand the nuance of deception. We, likewise, should not seek to be well-versed in the ways of underhandedness.
Conversely, we should strive to become seasoned veterans when it comes to our thinking. We should not stay practicing our ABC's forever. Some learn their shapes and colors sooner than others, but a 20 year old should no longer be boasting about his or her ability to have a three-sided, red triangle dead to rights.
Romans 16:19
For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.
We should be devoted to graduate level classwork on goodness and be failing the world's courses on evil. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be aware of the currency the world is dealing in, but it does mean that we shouldn't seek their accreditation when it comes to the ins and outs of being or doing evil.
