The Church is built on the foundation of (1) the Word and (2) the sacraments and the Main Character of both.
Baptism is an orientation, initiation, accreditation into the Christian community. It is a confirmation that the faith you have is not imagined or in your own head, but observed and confirmed as credible by an outside, qualified party.
Communion is the continuing education of the Christian community. It reminds us of the first things and invites us to make them the first thing. It is an invitation to go forward by going back, a remembrance of what was done to fuel what's left to do.
And all who believe and receive them are welcome.
