Lex is either rex or rex is lex.
Either the Law is King or the King is the law.
If the Law is King, the lord of the land is still a subject of the Law.
If the King is the law, there is no subject over which the king's preferences do not take preference.
If the king is law, two and two can be five if the king says so. In fact, two and two can only equal whatever the king consents to if, that is, he is the law. And the law dies with him until a successor is crowned because he was the law and it cannot be restored until a new king and his preferences ascend to the throne.
A rule is a standard by which other things are measured. The standard stays the same in order to measure the other things which do. The measuring rod does not vary so that it establish the things that do. The weight og it does not give way in order to differentiate things which weigh more or less heavily.
Ephesian 3:14-19
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Jesus is the King of kings, the Lord or lords, the Standard of standards, and the Ruler of rules.
