day no. 14,123: once ignorable objects

Genesis 3:6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Sin always tries to make anything off limits seem more attractive merely by its unattainability. It makes things once ignorable into objects of infatuation by their allusiveness. The tree looked the same before the serpent spoke as it did afterward, but it looked differently to Eve after he had placed his spin on things.
