We demolish arguments and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to obey Christ. And we are ready to punish any disobedience, once your obedience has been confirmed.
If you are a Christian or have at least been around Christian culture long enough,you've probably heard the phrase, “take every thought captive to Christ.” What you probably haven’t heard is the context in which that verse occurs.
This is an act of spiritual warfare. This is demolishing idolatry as it rears its ugly head in our thoughts and in the thoughts of those we love and to whom we minister.
This is not merely greeting card spirituality turning frowns upside down and what not.
This is acknowledging the lie and exalting the Christ.
This is war.
