16 And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of Their wrath has come! And who is able to stand?”
Lambs don’t often pack much punch.
Then again, lambs don’t often come back to life after you slaughter them.
Jesus left His heavenly home and position to become like us. He lived a perfect life and died a death undeserved. He rose again back to life and ascended back home to His Father.
Jesus became a man, but He has always been God.
Do not let people get you into a conversation about how God was full of wrath and vengeance in the Old Testament, but now in the New Testament because of Jesus He is meek and mild and gentle and generally chilled out.
Jesus came as a baby and became meek and mild.
This is true.
This is true.
But He reigns and judges those who reject Him and His grace.
Just like He always has.
Just like He always has.
It could be argued that Revelation is possibly the MOST violent and wrathful book in the entire Bible. Oh yeah, and it is in the New Testament, not the Old.
So don’t let people divide God up into two pieces like He has mood swings.
He is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
But don’t take my word for it.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever
