Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Christian are not to go out trying to convince the world that they are right. They are to therefore go and convince the world that Christ is King. Before the Great Commission is the Great Declaration, "All authority in Heaven and on earth have been given to Me." Because Christ is King of every place, everyone ought to be told. The disciples were sent out with a message to declare, not advice to give. The apostles were commissioned to establish the church, not to wish for a seat at the world's table.
“He didn’t say copy the nations. He didn’t say run from the nations. He said disciple the nations.” — Douglas Wilson, Mere Christendom
Christendom is the model for the nations. They ought to conform to Christ, not the other way around. The ship should be on the water, not water in the ship. Christendom should not cower before the nations. Christians should not be coolshamed. The standards of the world should hold no sway in our heads or hearts and not factor into how we conduct ourselves. We are to discipline the nations, which is to teach them all that Christ has said while showing them, by our example, how to obey all that He has commanded.
"We are not to go out into all the world and tell the nations that they might have a point.” — Douglas Wilson, So Come and Welcome to Jesus Christ
We do not have a lot to learn from the heathen. They have everything to learn from Christ. We are not students sent out to study the ways of the world, we are teachers and prophets sent out to instruct the world.
"We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum." — A..W Tozer
The City of God is not seeking to survive as an embassy in the world. It is seeking to establish the kingdom of Christ as it convinces the embassies of the world to run a new flag up the pole.
Mark 16:15
And Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
Let us leave no nation unturned. All the world needs to hear and believe the Good News of God revealed in Jesus Christ, His Son.
Acts 17:30
God commandeth all men every where to repent:
