day no. 17,091: don't debate with demons

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

You will never win a debate with a demon. The serpent is subtle and talking things through never changes his mind. David did not negotiate with Goliath, he confronted and killed him.

Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, "Yea, hath God said, 'Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?'"

There is a way to lawfully ask, "Did God really say?" The way you can tell the difference is if the answer is allowed to be, "Yes" or if the answer is already presupposed to be, "No." If that unwillingness is built into the question, it is a question from the pit of Hell and should be met with blows, not "yeah, buts."
