day no. 17,393: big league chew

"Some acknowledge that some women are ahead of some men, but then attribute this to the men concerned not actualizing their full potential. There are some women who are out of some men's leagues. There are men who are maxed out and would still be a step down for some women to submit to. She could humble herself and submit to him, but she could not submit to him without descending to his level. 

To be fair, the same can be said for men. There are some men who are out of some women's leagues. There are some women who are maxed out and would still be a step down for some men to lead. He could go slower in order to lead her, but he could not lead her without hamstringing himself to do so.

Some men are better men than others and so it stands to reason that better men need better helpers. That said, no man should need so much help as to need a helper merely to be a man. That man does not need a woman, he needs Jesus. God gave Adam a wife, not a mom. God gives boys a mom, but if they do not grow up, they should not look for another one. A man must leave his father and mother in order to cleave to a wife. She cannot be another mother, she must be a helper and a lover.

day no. 17,205: matriarchy is a failed patriarchy

In other words, patriarchy is inescapable. Where we see women leading it is because men are retreating. Matriarchy is built on the foundation of failing fathers. Women lead either where they are forced to because of a vacuum or where they are asked to because of cowardice. In a climate of effeminacy, women are better suited for the work. An effeminate man is not as good as a regular ol' woman and so the pulpits eventually, in an attempt at honesty, pick the lady preacher over the gay pastor because she is better at it than he is.

Where men have abandoned their posts altogether or prefer to sit rather than stand in the posts to which they have been appointed, someone will have to stand there. If dad takes his hands off the wheel, it is not shocking when mom reaches over and grabs it. If he pulls over, gets out, and begin to walk away, it is not shocking that she scoots over and takes over the driver's seat entirely.  This is understandable, but it is damnable. Lazy men put women in an impossible position.

To end where we began, women leading is a sign of men retreating and no man can boast in that kind of cowardice. He can blame the women for being grabby, but he cannot excuse his inability to keep them from reaching around him. When the patriarchy is a gaytriarchy, a matriarchy is the logical next step down.

Man was made from the dirt of the ground and woman was made from the rib of the man. Man was made out of the dust of the garden and woman was made from the fruit of the garden. The woman is the garden of gardens and has within herself a garden. She is the garden incarnate. As such, she serves the man by receiving his seeds and growing his crops. She produces fruit and provides nurture. 

He was made to take care of the dirt he came from and she was made to take care of the man she came from.

1 Corinthian 11:12
For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

The first woman was made from the man, but every man since has been made inside a woman. God has knit all things together that each may honor the other by being who He made them to be and for the reason He made.

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

God is a God of order. He does not do things haphazardly or without the end in mind. Nothing is done out of sequence, too soon, or too late.

1 Timothy 2:13
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Forms and functions matter and God is the Author of all of them.

There is a difference between trying to defy the rules and trying to redefine them. There is a kind of crime that respects the rules. The thief does not respect your right to property, but he respects it well enough once it is in his possession.

A socialist policy pusher is worse than a thief. He does not merely wish to take something of yours, he wishes to take your ability to have anything. He wishes to legislate away your ability to call anything yours. He is at war with every possessive pronoun other than theirs.

Men may be made of dirt, but they should not be treated like dirt. That said, if there is a bump in the night, the man should rise to the occasion. He is called to provide and protect his people. Part of that reveals that it would be better for him to perish in protecting his people than for his people to perish in order to protect him. Simply put, masculine virtue is not worth protecting if it cannot protect itself. That is not masculine virtue. If you protect that, what you are curating is not masculine or virtuous. 

Masculinity was made to sacrifice itself in order to save its people. Love lays down its life for the beloved and men are made in the image of the Man of God who did just that. Femininity was made to sacrifice itself in order to produce more people. Love is hospitable and welcomes new life into its womb and spends itself nurturing that life from its own body. 

Men and women were made differently. Men produce seeds faster than eggs can be fertilized. Men make more seeds than women can make eggs. One egg a month for a limited number of decades is a scarcer resource than a lifetime supply of daily sperm. 

Women are the weaker sex and must be treasured accordingly. You do not use the fancy plates for lunch on Wednesday. You save those for special occasions and keep them stored in a safe place in the meantime. You do not display normal dishes. The delicate ones, however, sometimes are put on display, but even then, they are kept safe and sound by being stored out of reach of others. Men are not disposal paper plates, but neither are they fine china... nor should they desire to be. Men are the standard issue ceramic white plates that get food on them often, get washed, dried, and put back into service.

Eggs are expensive; sperm is cheap.

day no. 17,035: the unity of diversity and the clarity of disparity

Genesis 1:27
God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Creation is distinction.

First and foremost, all creation is distinct from its Creator. He is distinct from what He has made. What is made cannot be separated from its Creator, but it is distinctly not its own Creator. It is with God, but it is not God, nor was it from the beginning.

Secondly, all creation contains internal distinctions. God made the night distinct from the day, the land distinct from the water, the waters above distinct from the waters below, the creatures of the air distinct from the creatures of the water, etc... It should come as no surprise then that the crown of His creation, the image bearers of God, should contain the internal distinction of male and female.

Diversity is best blessed when its distinctions are received as blessings.

God separates things in order to bring them back together better than they were before they were broken apart. The man is broken in order to make the woman. God then brings the woman back to the man in order to join them together. This is more than the man merely getting his rib back. He does get it back, but in a much better union. His new unity is better than his previous one. Man and wife is better than man before he lost his rib.

The unity of diversity is best achieved by the clarity of disparity.

day no. 16,950: the natural consequences of ignoring the supernatural

“Take away the supernatural and what remains is the unnatural.” — G.K. Chesterton

The supernatural keeps the natural in line. Honoring God is the best way to honor your grandfather. Thanking your Creator is the best way to respect other creatures. The natural cannot keep itself without reference to the supernatural. If it attempts to do so, it becomes unnatural. It cannot stay merely natural. No nature is not an option. There will be either supernatural or unnatural. When you fail to honor God, you do not get no honor, you get dishonor. Only the supernatural can hold the natural world together.

Romans 1:21-25
When they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. It's only natural that God should be required to keep things in order. The best way to love anything is to love God more. The only way to keep things in line is to keep Christ at the head of the line. Normal life is only possible where revelation is acknowledged. If special revelation is rejected, you don't merely have natural revelation, but abnormal speculation. You can't stay put. As Chesterton elsewhere acknowledged, a love of white fences is a commitment to repainting them white. For if you leave them be, you will have gray fences. Unless we are remade daily by God's good mercies, we are rotting.

In other word, God has made the world in such a way that it is completely natural and normal for things to become unnatural when the supernatural is rejected and/or abandoned.

day no. 16,913: homophobiaphobic

Ephesians 5:3
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Modern Western evangelicalism is more zealous to dissociate itself from the sin of being accused of being homophobic than it is from the actual, tangible sin of homosexuality.

Homophobia being named among them is anathema and anyone accused thereof is informally excommunicated from the speaking circuit. In other words, many have a phobia of being thought of as homophobic. Let's call it, "homophobiaphobic."

All that to say, many Christians would rather fellowship with sin than with those who are accused of confronting sin too harshly. They are more allergic to the idea of being called intolerant than they are to the reality of tolerating evil.

Of course, we ought to love homosexuals and share the Good News of the Gospel of God with them for such were some of us (1 Cor. 6:11,) but that is loving them on Christ's terms, not loving them on theirs. We cannot submit to their definitions of love and tolerance in order to try to win them to ours.

You cannot win someone to the merits of chastity by giving them your virginity.

Leviticus 10:1-3

The practice of participating in strange fire will be incinerated.

Jude 1:7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

The practice of partaking of strange flesh will be utterly estranged.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

day no. 16,865: Christians are required to be sexually explicit

Genesis 1:26-27
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Sex is explicit. 

God made the two sexes and their corresponding responsibilities.

These are clear and explicitly commanded in God's Word.

Genesis 2:18
And the Lord God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."

Man was made to tend to the garden, woman was made to tend to the man. He was made for a mission, her mission was her man.

Doug Wilson defines Biblical masculinity as, "the glad assumption of sacrificial responsibility," and Biblical femininity as, "a glad responsiveness to masculine initiative and authority."

A good man gladly gives his strength to save his people from hunger, loneliness, danger, and sin. A good woman gladly gives her strength to supporting the mission of her man. 

1 Timothy 5:8
If any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

No good man growls about the good work God calls him to.

1 Timothy 2:13-15
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

 No good woman gripes about the good works assigned to her.

Acts 17:26
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.

God made us all for such a time as this. We are male or female and called to be who we are by doing what He has called us to do where He has called us to do it.

day no. 16,161: gaytriarchy again

Psalm 2:1-3
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,

“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

Meet the new hierarchy, same as the ol' hierarchy. There is nothing new under the sun and the envious always become what they despise. The only way to smash the patriarchy is with another patriarchy. You can't break a sword with a wet noodle. If the goal is to demolish the existing power structure, you will have to do it using a similar power. Strength answers to strength. The gaytriarchy, in other words, is just the same ol' patriarchy they've always hated, without any of the restraints or responsibilities hard-wired into fatherhood. It is a desire to have privilege without responsibility, to be in charge without having any charges to whom you must look after. It's that MUST that really gets them — duty and obligation really grinds their goat. 

For the purpose of this post, the word "gay" is being used a general catch-all for all things unproductive and unfruitful as defined by God through His Word, the Bible. So gay is not being limited to sexual ethics, but being extended to include egalitarianism in all of its sickly manifestations: feminism, racism, Marxism, socialism, communism, environmentalism, etc..

Patriarchy has been blamed for just about every and any thing. In some ways, this is an accurate understanding and the indictment sticks. Patriarchy is responsible. It is a position of covenant headship that owns whatever happens on its watch. That is a very different thing than being at fault for everything that has ever happened. One can be responsible for what's happening under his own roof without being at fault for its happening. So, in that sense, it makes sense that Patriarchy would have the collective shade of human history thrown at it. The buck stops with it and it should take responsibility, even for its own soiled reputation. Deserved or not, guilty or not, the fact of it is the responsibility of it. And patriarchy should not appeal to complaints of that being unfair or asking the inquisitor to consider how that makes them feel. Patriarchy should know better and play the cards they've been dealt by playing the man, not attempting to do commerce in counterfeit currency. 

The patriarchy makes diversity possible. Only in a society of patriarchy are women free to be feminine and children free to be childlike. There is no competition. Men are not trying to be women and aren't expecting women to want to be men. Each accepts their strengths and weaknesses as part of the system which allows everyone to be different, valued, and included. The irony of the gaytriarchy and its “inclusiveness” is how unwelcoming and aggressive it is towards any other viewpoint. “Be inclusive or get the eff out” is their mantra. Swell. The kindness of the wicked is worse than the rudeness of the righteous. That kind of love and acceptance I can deal without and would likely be asked to go without if they had their way.

Mandating diversity is the best way to destroy it. Only a society organized under patriarchy would tolerate gay shenanigans as evidenced anecdotally by the very fact of it. If patriarchy is the long-standing tradition of western society and is blamed as being entirely narrow-minded and intolerant, how is it that out of that western society the greatest diversity of genders in the history of the world has ever been produced. If the patriarchy is as bad as they say, we would't know it, because we'd never been permitted to hear about it because they would never have been allowed to exist in the first place. 

But grant authority to the gaytriarchy and what do you find? Threats, firings, lawsuits, imprisonment camps, re-education, mandatory diversity trainings, preferred pronouns at gunpoint, mostly peaceful riots, and transvestites being applauded in public libraries. Their charge of the patriarchy forcing things down everyone else’s throats for thousands of years hardly carries weight when in its first year at the helm it crams as much of itself wherever it can. The problem it turns out was not with the cramming itself, but with who was doing the cramming and where they were allowed to cram it. But enough about perversity as a protected right.

All that to say, hierarchy is inevitable. The eternal God exists in a state of divine hierarchy with the Father as the head of the Son and the Spirit without any disparity in value or differentiation of divinity. The Father is not more God than the Son or the Spirit, but He is the head. The gaytriarchy is not a new and improved headship, but merely the very thing they have accused the old patriarchy of being: abusive, abdicating, narrow-minded, vindictive, bigoted, and absent. The only hope for the world is a robust patriarchy taking responsibility and gladly assuming the sacrificial responsibility of leading and let live. This will involve some much-needed, much-delayed spankings, and not the kind the kink cult advocate.

day no. 15,372: sinsanity

But a man who refuses to come to his senses, who refuses to accept an authoritative law/word that governs all lovemaking . . . such a one is seriously attempting to be God at all times, instead of what the sexual sinner is doing, which is forgetting he is not God for half an hour." -- Douglas Wilson, Pomosexuality

All sin is insanity. It is either momentary madness or deep-rooted delirium. It is forgetting the God above while believing the god within. It is madness. Those who come to their senses, repent and ask God to forgive this insanity. But those who never come to their senses expect God to accept their insanity, not as a blunder of hysteria, but as an alternate reality, a  recreation of the world in their own image. This second insanity trumps the first and is of a different species entirely. The flashpoint is still observed in the sexual behaviors of the sinner, but the essence of the sin is different. It originates in believing in one's blindness as opposed to being temporarily unable to see clearly. Both are sins, but the former is foundational as evidenced by its insistence after the fact while the latter is practical as evidenced by the immediate regret and repentance in acting out of insanity. The one attempts to justify its insanity by calling it "order," while the other acknowledges the insanity by repenting of it the moment it becomes clear to them what it was all along.

day no. 15,195: we cannot afford to be amateurs when it comes to pronouns

pro·noun /ˈprōˌnoun/ - nouna word that can function by itself as a noun phrase and that refers either to the participants in the discourse (e.g., I, you ) or to someone or something mentioned elsewhere in the discourse (e.g., she, it, this ).

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God

All words belong to the Word, including pronouns.
In other words, all pronouns are His pronouns.

Acts 17:26
God made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place

God picked your pronouns for you. You are obligated to live in submission to the pronouns that have been chosen for you. Your pronouns did not merely materialize out a post-modern cauldron of moving goo. They came from somewhere. They refer back to something. 

Pronouns are completely contingent on their source. You do not have a pronoun without a previous mention in the discourse. This conversation was initiated by God, the Word, who injected Himself into the dead silence.

We cannot afford to be amateurs when it comes to pronouns. We cannot participate in the realm of rhetoric without first understanding the grammar and logic of the conversation. And the Good News is that God has graciously provided us a grammar and a logic. He has assigned the lines and defined the terms. He is a God of order and has shared with us how it is all meant to fit together.

day no. 14,898: how do I know?

The following quote comes from THIS article.

"No one goes to hell for being a homosexual. How do I know? Because no one goes to heaven for being a heterosexual." - J.D. Greear

At first glace, this may appear to be rock solid, well-would-you-look-at-that, straight up the middle, logic. But run that play, only this time, let's change the jerseys.

"No one goes to hell for being a homophobic, racist, misogynist. How do I know? Because no one goes to heaven for being an affirming, color-blind, feminist." 

Or more generically...

"No one goes to hell for doing something. How do I know? Because no one goes to heaven for doing something else."

Or even more absurd...

"No one go to hell. How do I know? Because no one is going to heaven."

If homosexuality is not a sin because heterosexuality is not a virtue, then homophobia is not a sin because open-mindedness is not a virtue. But homophobia is most certainly counted as a sin in the sense that to be accused of being homophobic is accompanied by an admonition to repent. The priests of the Spirit of the Age stand at the ready to excommunicate all sinners of this brand.

The absurdity of this line of thought is obvious when applied to any other sin. The adjectives I chose to use earlier, "homophobic, racist and misogynistic" were not happenstance. There are few topics that tie evangellyfish into knots more than sexual orientation, racial reconciliation and gender segregation. And yes, I know the word, "segregation" has now been relegated to the naughty word list, but it's the right word. Men and women are the not the same thing and if you think that's a bad thing, then you've got one foot in the woke hole and one foot on a banana and things don't typically get less slippery once you begin to slide.

The effeminatti have somehow wormed their way so deeply into the logic of otherwise Bible-believing people, that homosexuality is now thought of as, "just another sin." In the James 2:10 sense tof that sentiment, of course, that is true. But all of us in this argument have Bibles and already understood that. The recent hooplahs have not been about stressing that point. It has been about stressing an entirely new and foreign point, tacked onto the previous like a pork-barrel politic, that homosexual desire is not, in itself, a sin.

Greear's logic here would be, "Homosexual desire is not a sin. How do I know? Heterosexual desire is not a virtue." 

But that is where he is wrong. Heterosexual desire can be virtuous, whereas homosexual desire cannot. There is a context in which heterosexual desire can be expressed in clean conscience before God and man. There is no context in which homosexual desire can be. That is because the desire itself requires repentance, not acceptance. And this cannot be assuaged by stating, "Hey, it's not like I'm going to act upon the desire!" 

Again, run that play with different jerseys.

"I am a racist, but it's not like I'm going to act upon it."
"I am a sexist, but it's not like I'm going to act upon it."
"I am a homophobe, but it's not like I'm going to act upon it."

In each and every one of these scenarios, we recognize the error in the orientation. It is not OK to remain a racist even if you don't act upon it. It is not OK to be a sexist, even if you don't do anything about it. These are not orientations or states of being that we tolerate others holding on to or identifying with without exception. We drive deep to the root on these and see the problem for what it is -- a heart level sin which needs to be confessed as sin and repented of as sin.

So apply that logic now to homosexuality. It is not OK to provide safe harbor to homosexual desires... even if you do not act upon them. The disposition needs to be confessed as sin, not coddled as OK.

And when we begin doing this, we will see real solid sin confessed and real solid forgiveness experienced.
