"Many a man has been lucky in marrying the woman he loves. But he is luckiest in loving the woman he marries." - GK Chesterton
This quote reminds me in many ways to the golden stand-by:
"First a man must choose his love, and then he must love his choice" - Henry Smith
A man should not cultivate covenantal love with a young lady if he does not combine it with a commitment to marry her. Additionally, a lad should not marry a lass with whom he is not committed to cultivating covenantal love.
Too often momentary sexual compatibility is proposed as an essential pre-requisite gatekeeper of pursuing further commitment; when in actuality, pursuing commitment produces enduring sexual compatibility.
