Romans 15:1-3a
Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves. 2 Each one of us must please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3 For even the Messiah did not please Himself.
The strong owe the weak their patience.
They demonstrate their strength by faithfully enduring the troubles of those around them.
Jesus did not live to please Himself.
He didn’t die because He had to.
Jesus lived to please God and to provide a way for us.
He died because He chose to.
We should follow suit and die to ourselves to please God and others.
