Psalm 85:10
10 Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Righteousness and Peace cannot be friends without Christ.
Righteousness demands justice. Justice demands retribution and vengeance. If vengeance is the LORD's, His promise of faithfulness guarantees He will right wrongs. That requires righting wrongdoers in the face!
Peace demands that rebels be put down permanently. Peace means the end of adversaries.
Jesus Christ officiates righteousness and peace's first kiss from the pain of Calvary.
peace is ACTIVE against evil - it's not sitting by and letting wicked people do wicked things. god's wrath against sin is the only JUST way to achieve peace. i'm so grateful for a god who is peaceful AND just.
